Smithsonite on Coronadite and Goethite
Kintore Open Cut
Broken Hill NSW
Bright 1-3 mm clear crystals of Smithsonite on metallic grey Coronadite. Self-collected from the Kintore Open Cut on the main Line of Lode in 2002 as part of the MinSoc joint seminar hosted by the Broken Hill Mineral Society. Occasional Baryte crystal hidden in amongst the Smithsonite. While best appreciated with magnification, the smithsonite is bright, sparkly and undamaged, showing multiple growth faces on multiple scalenohedral crystals.
