Garnet from Sangu garnet mines, Zambia. ~40% Alm, 48% Pyrope.

A single 41 carat (8.3g) piece of Pyrope garnet rough, unflawed, deep even dark cherry red colour. Should cut a high quality large single stone.
At this size, most of the stones in this old stock show significant flaws and inclusion. This one is exceptional.
